Private Jet Geometry
Full scale, midsize private jet geometry. A simpler aircraft shape than the super-midsize business jet in our store. Use the model for aerodynamic CFD simulations to practice meshing techniques and application of boundary condition systems. To make it CFD ready, add the ambient air volume to the model.
The geometry is provided in STEP (.stp) and Parasolid (.x_t) formats in a zip file to download. The aircraft is a single part with fuselage, wing, tail, nacelle and pylon.
We have created the original parametric model in Solid Edge in an MMKS (millimetre, kg, second) unit system. The 3D CAD geometry is based on the structural repair manual of a similar aircraft. Please note, that because no accurate external shape information is available from any aircraft OEM, this private jet model is not an accurate, full representation of a flight capable airplane. However, we took a lot of care to make the model a good subject for CFD simulation excercises.
Model properties:
- In STEP (.stp), Parasolid (.x_t) file formats,
- A single part model having the fuselage, tail, pylon, nacelle and wings,
- The model’s coordinate system origin is at Fuselage Station (FS) 0.0,
- Full 1:1 scale solid volume private jet model, can be halved for a symmetric arrangement, or can be further detailed with antennas or other attachments.
- Length: 19087.9 mm (62 ft 7.49 in), Wingspan: 22081 mm (72 ft 5.3 in), Height: 6224.5 mm (20 ft 5 in). Check your units when scaling.
- Add ambient air volume geometry to make it CFD simulation ready.
- Download file size is 8.49MB. When extracted, the stp file is the largest with 16.7MB, so make sure you have suitable bandwith and storage capacity.
